It is an important traffic hub of the park: buses and private cars all stop here. Enter the park and you can see the transport we offer you—the round mini-train of the 19th century. The long battery car will let you surf the Happy Valley. Fiord Forest will present you romantic springs, silent forest, and fresh ecological experience. Magical architecture, simple color lines, and simple glass metals create certain modern feel. When we go through it, fashion, fresh and magical feeling grow up, and our physical and mental fatigue relax. Let’s forget reality and prepare to throw us into the lively carnival atmosphere.

An Open Secret:

It’s located on what, a few years back, was Beijing’s eastern periphery: then a moribund factory area in the Dashanzi area and “798” refers to the designation of the original Bauhaus factory that became the first of the many galleries that have sprung up-40% in the last year alone. The almost completed subway line 10 will further increase the momentum-though not perhaps of the zone!
There is so much to see here-and even newer art zones- that this is but the first of a series of articles. Environmentally, it’s atypical of Beijing, being leafy and laid back. That English sign too. There are far more westerners about than elsewhere in this sprawling city and plenty of western food and refreshments too served alfresco. Along with a great art and photography bookstore. Most local gallery staff seem to speak some English too, not a facility to be taken for granted in Beijing generally. A nice place to chill out. But the main business of course is exploring the galleries. Wear comfortable shoes as there are over one hundred galleries spread over a considerable area. The emphasis is on the avant-garde I came across the works of Zhao Limin at the Ahead Gallery and they all display the concerns evident in this bold composition

Like an open secret, the Dashanzi 798 Art District in Jiuxian Qiao, (just off the Airport Expressway) is a place that everybody knows but hardly anyone talks about. What was once a cluster of decommissioned military electronics factories have now become a haven of contemporary art galleries, artist’s studios, bookstores and cafes. While this space is now more known for its artistic community, traces of its past are still plain to see. The kitschy Mao figures and proletariat statues still watch over the premises, and many of the slogans are almost humorously preserved. The soaring metal structures and clanging pipes are also tangible reminders of area’s humble beginnings.

The outwardly industrial complex, made even more utilitarian-looking by the extensive road repaving that was going on in preparation for the Olympics, belied the hum and bustle of creativity that is only evident once one enters each gallery. Much like Alibaba’s cave, inside each red-bricked or steel-laden building lays a treasure trove of contemporary art, each exhibition giving off its own brand of brilliance.

Nowadays, everything in China changes in excessive speed, both of the society and the young expanding age, which is the characteristic and multicultural weather of China turning into an opening society. All of these reflects in the quickly growth of 798 art zone and the Chinese contemporary art being present. 798 art zone as a complex gather with the old industrial architecture and fashion culture attracts numbers of visitors every day and brings tremendous domestic and international influence.
